Performance testing is used to determine the relationship between heart rate, speed (on the run) or power (on the bike) and lactate levels. Allowing you to:
The following types of performance tests are offered by Miranda:
All tested athletes receive a print out of their results and undergo a post-test interpretation of their test results.
Fees: $200 per test + H.S.T.

- Establish your current fitness level
- Have a comparison for future tests
- Determine the appropriate pacing strategy for an upcoming race
- Determine your appropriate training zones in terms of heart rate, speed (run) and power (bike) to allow you to train smarter and avoid injury
The following types of performance tests are offered by Miranda:
- Bike lactate threshold testing is done on Computrainer, the gold standard for power-based indoor trainers. This is a sub-maximal test, during which the power is incrementally increased from an easy effort to a "9 out of 10" effort. Heart rate and lactate levels are measured throughout the test. You are tested on your own bike.
- Run lactate threshold testing is done on a treadmill. This is also a sub-maximal test, during which the speed is incrementally increased from an easy effort to a "9 out of 10" effort. Heart rate and lactate levels are measured throughout the test.
